Year 1
What a fantastic day we had in Stafford! As part of our History unit on The Great Fire of London, we visited The Ancient High House which is one of the largest and tallest high houses left in the country! Year 2 had the opportunity to dress up as Lords, Ladies and servants from 17th century Britain and imagined what it would have been like to wake up to the fire on the 2nd September 1666. The children made their own wattle and daub which was used in the walls of Tudor houses. They also explored why the fire spread so quickly and how King Charles II ordered them to pull down buildings with fire hooks to stop the fire from spreading anymore.
