Welcome to St Joseph’s Nursery class page. We are delighted that you have chosen our nursery to start your child’s learning journey. We offer a warm welcome to you, and your child, into our school family. We are a devoted team who are passionate about providing high quality early education to all of our children.
At St. Joseph’s nursery we provide early education for children aged 3-4 years old. We provide a happy, play based learning environment, full of opportunities for children to explore, practice and develop new skills.
As you are your child’s first educator we value warm working relationships with parents and carers, so that together we can support children as they learn, develop and grow.
Nursery Autumn 1 – What makes me special?
In Autumn 1, our pupils at St Joseph’s will be settling into the nursery routine. We will spend time getting to know each other and will be making new friends. The children will learn what makes a good friend and some ways that they can show friendship to others. They will demonstrate friendly behaviour and build relationships with peers and the adults in nursery. We will look at what makes us special and unique, and we will celebrate the similarities and differences between ourselves and our friends. They will know about their own family and share why they are special to them. The children will know that families can be made up of many different people and that all families are different, but are important. They will understand who is in their family that they live with and some extended family. Our learning will also incorporate emotions; children will know about some of the different emotions that we all experience and will begin to recognise when they and others are feeling them.
